Easels For Small Spaces
Posted on: September 13, 2011
Small easels can have a myriad of uses in almost every room of your home. Especially when you are renting, the landlord may have strict guidelines in putting holes in the wall to hang your family photos or your objects of art. Without these items, the room can be left looking barren and totally unadorned. If this is not a problem than small easels can be attached to the wall and make excellent backdrops for whatever you wish to display.
Wall Mounted Easels
If you have children, then I am sure you are well aware of how much they enjoy drawing. Sadly, some areas where they choose to display their artwork can be any room of the house; especially the walls or floors. To curb this problem a wall mounted easel in their room could keep them occupied for hours. This style of easel will have a tray to hold their art supplies and a roll of paper that can be pulled down the back of the easel and each object of art taken off as it is completed. Other small easels placed about the home can hold family photos. One advantage of this is to simply replace the photo as you see fit and there is no additional wall space taken up.
Convertible Easels
The convertible easel is a great pace saver. Also known as the hybrid easel, they easily convert from small easels into a useful tabletop. They would make wonderful studio easels because if your art form requires a tabletop, they can become a regular easel again that will take up much less space, when you are finished with your art project. These wooden easels are easy on the pocketbook when they are purchased in the smaller sizes to accommodate your living quarters.
Studio Easels
The avid artist will seek out studio easels that are going to perform in a way that is beneficial to their craft. The tripod, or simplest of small easels, are the least expensive of these items. There are other small easel stands that offer a large number of uses. They can include winches, casters, and masts when they come in the complex form of easel. For most the simple design will do nicely, and if you are not an artist yourself but greatly enjoy the work of masters, small wooden easels make a unique way of displaying your treasures. You can have a unit that stands tall from the floor or one that will set nicely upon a tabletop. If space is an issue, there are multiple styles of small easels that will suit the purpose for which you want them.
Portable Easels
A portable easel is a great piece if you want to take your craft out of doors. Like most, they mount on three legs and are made of wood or aluminum. Either of these tripod easels is easily portable from your home to any destination you have in mind. Upon your return, they can be slipped into any space requiring next to nothing horizontally, and vertical space will depend on the size easel you purchase. Depending on size and what amenities are offered with these small easels such as drawers and shelves, your easel can be purchased for a very minimal cost.
